Please find herewith some helpful information:
At “The Gift Box Factory” we make all our boxes on order. We only have limited stock on the shelve which is mostly overruns on orders and limited to 3 – 5 per the specific size. These are available to the walk-in client to purchase or those clients that need mix and match boxes for their own shop.
We custom make all our boxes on site, we don’t buy and resell or import. A computer system generates the quote using your requirements and sizes and for this reason we do not have a set price list.
We use all the information given by the client - Colour, Qty, Type of paper covering and board thickness and then do the quotes based on this information. ALWAYS measure your products and give us the base measurements - You pack the items inside the base, not the lid. Upside down base - Measure L x W x Depth - Our system will generate the lid size and we make accordingly. Our size list is merely a guideline to assist you with sizing. We are not at all limited to the sizes on the list. We make the size you want and can supply a picture of more or less but not exact unless that one is on the shelve, mostly branded.
We do not have photos of each and every box on the list for the only reason that no two clients order the same box and in the same colour. If you order a specific size and colour we also don’t have a photo until the boxes are done and branded.
Our Standard lead time ranges from +- 15- 20 working days depending on the type, Style and Qty of the boxes on order. We calculate the days from receipt of payment. On small orders we can combine orders if we have space and not delay other orders. WE cannot stop a production line on orders to make a small order and then delay the other order that was planned and already on the schedule.
We use three Board thickness to make our boxes:
Square and Rectangular Boxes
700Gsm - For the “not so strong box “ that is going to be used to pack items and gets thrown away
240Gsm – 300gsm for the Fold up boxes.
1200 –A sturdy board and the most popular thickness for most boxes that is not very large or deep and more cost effective than the 1800.
1800 - This one is for the larger boxes and boxes that are larger in size - larger than A4 and deeper than 100mm.
2300Gsm - This is a very expensive board and we use this when we do large boxes to ensure they are sturdy.
Round boxes:
100mm, 150 and 200mm in diameter = The Walls range between 1.5mm – 2.00mm
250mm and 287mm diameter - The Walls are 2mm -2.3mm in thickness.
The rounds/Bases are made in the same way as a toilet paper roll and cut into the lengths/Height we require them to be in. We order these in bulk and cannot order small quantities on custom sizes but be can resize what we have in stock and will advise.
Flip top boxes: Book style and with ribbon closure (Bridesmaid boxes)
We only make these with 1800 Board to ensure a neat and sturdy box - We don’t make them deeper than 100mm and not larger than 300mm x 300mm. If you need a larger size we can make it only as far as out board allows us. Mostly the bigger the box the shallower the depth.
All boxes:
You can select a size from the list, choose colour and paper finish and we do a quote for you,
OR
Measure your product/s and mail us the sizing together with the colour and paper finish you prefer, and we will generate the quotation for you. The reason for quoting this way is that some paper sheets are different in price and the system quote accordingly.
All our boxes are hand made and we strive to ensure that they are all unique.
Note: August – December is our PEAK time and orders need to be placed well in advance and the lead time might be longer due to the volumes in production. We normally close our order book Mid November.
Orders that need to be completed before the annual close down need to be placed by first week of November. Orders after Mid November will only be made from End January when we re-open.
Also take note that in some instances suppliers run out of certain stock items and then we can only do those orders as soon as they receive stock and can supply us.
Ordering process for special occasions must be placed well in advance.
Valentines Day - Orders must be placed by November / 1st week December before we close. (Most companies close until Mid January and we might get supplies late and miss the Valentine deadline.
For special occasions - Please place the orders at least 8 weeks in advance so that we can plan accordingly and ensure we meet the deadlines - Sometimes the suppliers run out of stock on certain papers and board during November and then we need to substitute which will delay production.
Year end Gifts - Orders must be placed before End October.
Filled hampers - Depending on the items required and the Quantity - please plan well in advance as we don’t keep stock of items and order them as we get our orders. WE also order products from suppliers all over in the country and delivery can take a few days to receive.
